Candidacy Filing
If you are filing for a state or federal office (President, U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress, Governor, State Senator, State Delegate, Circuit Court Judge, Court of Special Appeals, etc.), you must contact the State Board of Elections (SBE) at 410-269-2880 or elections.maryland.gov.
If you are filing for a county or City of Hagerstown office (Commissioner, States Attorney, Treasurer, Register of Wills, Sheriff, Judge of the Orphans Court, Board of Education, Mayor, City Council, etc.), you must contact the Washington County Board of Elections at 240-313-2050 or washco.elections@maryland.gov.
If you are filing for a municipal office (Boonsboro, Clear Spring, Funkstown, Hancock, Keedysville, Sharpsburg, Smithsburg, Williamsport), you can contact each municipality by clicking on the town names above or by visiting the Directory of Municipal Officials.

All candidates must file a Financial Disclosure Statement. The type of financial disclosure and to whom it is filed varies for the office sought.
